The Coffs Harbour Fishermen’s Co-operative Takeaway offers the best fish & chips in town. Our covered dining deck is a hub of activity every day of the week, popular with locals and visitors alike. On a sunny day customers have the option of sitting at the outdoor tables overlooking the fishing vessels, or taking a picnic walk to Muttonbird Island.
Our menu ranges from inexpensive fish and chips ($7 for the kids) to more tailored options that take advantage of our full range of fresh fish. It includes fish & chips, calamari, prawns, fish cocktails, salt & pepper squid, grilled fish, battered fish and crumbed fish to mention a few options. Each day, there is a Specials Board indicating the daily catch in seafood (subject to availability). If your choice remains unsatisfied, you may choose any fresh seafood you like, and we will cook and prepare it to your liking for a small fee.
We use mono-unsaturated cooking oil which is changed regularly.
To complement our seafood you will find a large variety of ice cream, from Paddle Pops® to high quality scoops in waffle cones. We invite both adults and children to enjoy a delicious refreshing snack on any day. Chilled soft drinks and bottled water are available for purchase.
The takeaway caters to group bookings as well as individual customers and families. We encourage you to bring a bottle of wine to enjoy with your meal.
Gift Vouchers are available for those who would like to give the experience of a fresh seafood meal overlooking the harbour.
We are open from 10 AM to 7 PM almost every day of the year.
My wife and I ordered grilled swordfish. It took some time until it was done, but then we each got a nicely grilled piece about the size of a T Bone steak. Our daughter liked the salad. It might not be the place for a formal dinner but if you are hungry for fish at a reasonable price it’s certainly worth going there.
Heaps of choice of fresh fish to cook at home. We got the $35 family basket – nice variety, plenty to eat, fast service, great taste. A good way to end a day out in the town before heading home again.
The fisherman’s co-op is your one stop shop for both a tasty seafood lunch and to purchase fresh seafood for dinner. Highly recommended the fisherman’s basket for two, it was easily enough to fill both our bellies. We then purchased a fresh kilo of prawns to take home.
Our family of 4 tucked into one of the better fish n chips we have had for a long time. Nice crisp batter (not soggy, oily, or smoothed). We had a selection trawler whiting, flake, calamari, sea scallops, potato scallops, and chips all beautifully cooked, and with great taste of the seafood
